What is the Free Baby Project?

When my son was born in July of 2017, catapulting me into motherhood, I was sure of very few things. One thing I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt, however, was that I wanted to raise him myself, not farm out the job to hired help. I also knew that I wanted him to grow up to be a peaceful, philosophical, independent person able to recognize and call out evil no matter what sort of good intentions it is wrapped in.

The second goal will require a constant attention to teaching by both example and instruction; the first requires that I find some way to help with the minutiae of supporting my family while not leaving my son to work a traditional job. And so the Free Baby Project is born: a record of my struggles, successes, musings and insights as I take on the daunting task of raising a new human.
